Now entrepreneurs
can pick up great advice at STAPLES Business Depot, as the retailer adds
hundreds of small business seminars to its stores beginning
‘Staples BizLaunch Seminars’ deliver valuable how-to advice designed to help Canadian startups learn how to run successful ventures. A total of 13 different seminar topics contain practical, ready-to-apply information to help small business owners learn how to boost sales, reduce taxes, manage operations, raise capital, hire employees and market their businesses online.
The 90 minute sessions are delivered evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m. within select stores in most Canadian markets, STAPLES Business Depot will host 225 seminars during the next 10 months. Each seminar is presented by a small business expert from BizLaunch.ca.
Seminar topics include ‘Building Your Business Plan’, ‘Network for Success’, ‘Marketing Your Business Online’, ‘Raising Money for Your Biz’, ‘Hire Smart’ and ‘Beat the Taxman: Write-offs You Should Know.’ Seminar guests will also receive money-saving product offers, be eligible to win prizes and get to network and learn from other business owners.
“STAPLES Business Depot wanted to give business owners access to learning opportunities in addition to great business products and services,” says Lori Ross, VP of Marketing at STAPLES Business Depot. “We found the perfect partner to help us to do that in BizLaunch; they specialize in teaching entrepreneurs how to build successful companies.”
BizLaunch.ca is a Toronto-based firm focusing on coaching and training startups. BizLaunch created the seminar topics in cooperation with the retailer, and will supply experienced business owners to deliver each session within host stores.
Last autumn STAPLES Business Depot and BizLaunch.ca ran a test pilot for Staples BizLaunch Seminars involving thirty-eight seminars delivered in thirteen stores across the Greater Toronto Area. The positive response received from small business owners who participated in the pilot led to the development of a national seminar schedule.
“Running a small business takes everything
you’ve got,” comments BizLaunch co-founder Roger Pierce. “An entrepreneur has
to understand – and juggle – a wide range of responsibilities such as finding
money for cash flow, wiring a website into Google or managing employees. In
very little time, these seminars will give startups the how-to knowledge they need
to succeed.”
